In 2014, Raquel Sofia released her NPR “Tiny Desk Concert” and was also picked as the first Latin artist to participate in VEVO’s original program “Vevo DSCVR” and grossed over 100,000 views in the first 2 weeks. Raquel’s 2nd single “Agridulce” has grossed over 8.5M streams on Spotify, Agridulce was also chosen as one of Beats Music “Best of 2014 Pop” songs.
Raquel Sofia wrote and performed on HBO Game Of Thrones Mix Tape for 2015. Feburary of 2015, Raquel released her first EP “Te Odio Los Sabados” featuring her hit single “Te Amo Idiota” the EP obtained over 9M streams on Spotify in 4 months.
Raquel launched her debut album “Te Quiero Los Domingos” in 2015 reaching the number 1 spot on iTunes Latin charts on the first day with purely organic promotion and 25 milllion Spotify streams to date. She was also nominated for 2015 Latin GRAMMYs for “Best New Artist” and made her Award show debut performing on the live broadcast on November 19th 2015.
Raquel Sofia was chosen as Spotify’s “Artist to watch” in 2015. She performed in 2015’s SXSW Music Festival and also teamed up with Lexus in their RPM Series to cover 4 songs and produce video content + tv spots. Collaborated with Pearl Jam guitarist Mike McCready, Guns N’ Roses bassist Duff McKagan and Screaming Trees drummer Barrett Martin and sang on their Levee Walkers’ singles “El Viento” and “Alma”. Her new single and video, “Ron De Azucar”, was recently released and is the first single from her upcoming sophomore album to be released later this year.
